Hook-up Regrets – 10 Toxic Social Creatures

BEDTIME STORIES FOR ADULTS

The signs were there before I entered into relationships with them. When they sensed a level of weakness, they did not fight the overwhelming urge to prey upon me. Half of them with their tongues, the other half with their tears. I fell asleep inside them and woke up inside their nightmares.

10. THE OUTSOURCERS

Outsourcers get their friends to take control of their dating apps and profiles because either they think their friends will be wittier and make better decisions, or because they’re lazy.

9. THE BREADCRUMBERS

A trail to nowhere. Breadcrumbers avoid words and gestures of genuine intent, and never lead you down the path toward a real relationship.

8. THE GHOSTS

You go on a date. Maybe some dates. Then he goes silent. They ignore your messages or calls. You are left staring at your phone and boohooing about what is wrong with you.

7. THE SCROOGES

They dump you before the holidays in order to avoid having to buy you a gift.

6. THE CEOs

They have no time to waste on people who cannot give them what they want. It is a cruel world for small things; hence only smallerness can bring happiness to them.

5. THE ZOMBIES

Such species are technically known as the living dead. They disappear and then come back from the dead months later with some lame excuse justifying their prolonged absence. And they try to fool you into thinking they are a new person.

4. THE SUBMARINES

They vanish without a trace (much like a submarine when it sinks to the depths of the ocean), then without warning, they resurface and slide back into your inbox like nothing ever happened. Naturally, you should be grateful to hear from them.

3. THE WHITE KNIGHTS

White Knights have little experience with dating women and try to compensate for a lack of game by adopting a romanticized code of chivalry instead, treating with an emphasis on women with respect. They are the ones attracted to the distressed, the depressed, needy or damaged women, convinced that they can rescue them. They are motivated by the hope that by rescuing the fair damsel, she will be so overcome with gratitude that she will reward him with her love or at least her body.

2. THE VULTURES

They are circling around your dying relationship waiting for it to die so that they may move in under the guise of friendship and eat at the carcass of your deceased relationship.

1. THE GASLIGHTERS

Do you often feel that your partner wants to make you believe you are unlovable or useless? Do you often start questioning your own perception of reality within your relationship? If you do, you have become a victim of a gaslighter, an emotional abuser.

A psychopath is born, a sociopath is made.
